 The Deshal,Sylhet i project presented unique challenges due to limited construction time and a tight budget. The site itself was an old building that previously housed another showroom,which meant we had to work within the existing layout.However, we successfully transformed the exterior by cladding it with dark gray ACP, creating a striking contrast that beautifully highlighted the Deshal logo. The focus was onensuring a seamless shopping experience.

Traditional Sylheti motifs were incorporated, adding a distinctive touch. To pay homage to the Haowr region’s beauty, boats were creatively used as mannequins and product displays, creating a unique visual element. Locally sourced materials, such as rattan and thatched ceiling lights, were integrated, reflecting the region’s craftsmanship and adding warmth and texture. The cash counter, crafted from rammed earth, embraced a natural and earthy aesthetic while promoting sustainability. Ornamental cart wheels added cultural charm. A budget-conscious approach involved chiseling off plaster and applying conmix for a textured effect, and white paint on raw brick was used for a clean, contemporary look.

This interior design project draws on inspiration from traditional motifs and infusing them with contemporary elements. The result is a visually captivating space that celebrates the cultural heritage of the country while offering a modern and immersive retail experience.
